Teaching Site

Our clinic is a teaching site for optometry students from the University of Waterloo Optometry and Vision Science program. Our student doctors are in their final year of training and gain invaluable experience in our rural practice.

How often should I have my eyes checked?

Once every 12 months

Once every 2 years

Patients with ocular conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, etc. may be monitored at different intervals depending on the recommendations of their optometrist.

When Should My Child Have Their First Eye Exam?

Your child’s first eye exam is recommended at the age of six months. Why?

Your optometrist is able to assess and ensure your child’s eyes are developing as expected. If any abnormalities are detected, they can take steps to promote proper visual development or refer to an ophthalmologist if necessary.
